The Client

Lightning Ridge Farm is a gift shop in Chepachet, Rhode Island that is owned and operated by Bonnie Clark.  The shop was built on offering amazing local honey, but has blossomed into so much more. Bonnie has been supporting local farmers and the artisan community by carrying their fine products since 2014.

Client's Goals

The Project

Lightning Ridge Farm has an established presence in the local community and saw that it was time to expand to the internet. Unfortunately, Bonnie had a poor experience with the previous person that was hired to create a website for her business. This resulted in her losing access to the lightningridgefarm.com domain name that she had previously purchased.

Bonnie’s shop is home to many unique artisan creations and antiques, so a simple to use content management system was paramount. Bonnie also wanted the ability to expand from an informational website to a full e-commerce shopping experience, but at her own pace.

Lightning Ridge Farm already had a successful social media following, but having complete control over the way that content was presented to customers was a top priority. Bonnie contacted us to recover her domain name and correctly launch her first website.

Our Solution

We began by attempting to contact the person that was previously hired to create her website in an attempt to recover the lightningridgefarm.com domain. While we were successful at locating the gentleman, he was unwilling to turn over the account information.

Thankfully, we were able to work with the domain name registration company on Bonnie’s behalf to recover the domain. After a few days of the identity verification process and guiding Bonnie every step of the way, lightningridgefarm.com was finally returned its rightful owner.

Services Provided

After reclaiming the domain name, we quickly went to work building out the framework for Bonnie’s new online store. We provided photography and copywriting services as well as playing out a general marketing strategy.

Bonnie’s shop already had a loyal following on Facebook, with 555 likes and 559 social follows. Lightning Ridge Farm has also garnered a 5 out 5 star review from the numerous happy customers. Our approach was tap into the potential social media synergy to fuel website traffic and growth.

Conclusion

We recovered the lightningridgefarm.com domain name and provided our copywriting and photography services. Bonnie’s business now has all of the tools for success. Her social media following continues to grow and her website has become a profitable sales channel for driving traffic to her retail location.
